Job Summary:
The Oak Lawn Park District is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Athletic Site Supervisor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of youth and adult athletic leagues and programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise all league and intramural activities as assigned.
- Prepare sites for recreational activities, including gyms and softball fields.
- Distribute and collect all forms and scorecards from teams.
- Communicate with the Athletic Supervisor, officials, and patrons as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and organizing all game day equipment.
- Record scoresheets for adult league and intramural league games.
- Report and record all behavioral/disciplinary/unsafe conditions that may occur.
- Obtain knowledge of the park district's rules and policies.
- Assist with the setup of events.
- Assist all umpires, referees, or any other game officials when needed.
- Direct teams and patrons to their correct fields, courts, etc.
- Be prepared to call police or paramedics at a moment's notice.
Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Ability to communicate both written and orally with supervisor and general public.
- Ability to work independently for extended periods of time.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of sport activities, including but not limited to; softball, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball.
- Ability to work in hot weather conditions.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours.
- Must obtain or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
Working Conditions:
- Worker performs activities outdoors and indoors.
- Worker performs activities indoors, including lighting and temperatures.
- Worker must be able to work indoors and outdoors on occasion in weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
- Worker may be involved in repetitive work (scoreboard, writing).
Physical and Psychological Considerations:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work 5-20 hours per week.
- Must be able to sub or work longer shifts than necessary.
- Must be able to work at a scores table for extended periods.
- Lifting items 50 lbs. or heavier.
- Assisting with the setup of events.
- Ability to work along on any shift.
- Ability to work a varied schedule as required.
- Ability to work with staff and patrons in a relaxed, friendly, and professional manner.
- Ability to use good judgment in the absence of supervision.
Environmental Considerations:
- Worker performs activities outdoors and indoors.
- Worker performs activities indoors, including lighting and temperatures.
- Worker must be able to work indoors and outdoors on occasion in weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
- Worker may be involved in repetitive work (scoreboard, writing).

- Worker must have knowledge of league and sport rules.
- Worker must possess time management and organizational skills to effectively perform their job.
