Join Our Team as a Surgical Technologist
At Revo Health, our Surgical Technologists play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team by ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. This position is part-time, offering flexible shifts to accommodate the needs of our facility.
Position Highlights:
- Assist in gathering necessary equipment and supplies for scheduled surgeries while preparing the operating room.
- Set up sterile instrument tables, ensuring all instruments and supplies are clean and functional.
- Confirm that all required instruments and supplies are present and accounted for before surgical incisions.
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical procedure.
- Support surgeons and surgical team members during all phases of the operation.
- Utilize knowledge of surgical procedures to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Label medications in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating specialized instruments and equipment used in various surgical procedures.
- Handle specimens obtained during procedures according to established policies.
- Clean and return specialty instruments and equipment to their designated locations at the end of the shift.
- Assist in the cleaning of the operating room between procedures and after the final case of the day.
- Support the Circulating Nurse with tasks appropriate to your skill level during surgeries.
- Decontaminate, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and ensure a seamless surgical experience.
- Report any occurrences related to employee or patient events through the established reporting process.
- Contribute to the educational development of colleagues and students, including serving as a preceptor.
- Engage in continuing education to foster professional growth and meet departmental requirements.
- Assist in managing costs effectively by utilizing resources judiciously.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program is required.
- Surgical Technologist Certification is preferred.
- One year of experience in an operating room setting within the last three years is preferred.
- Current membership in the A.S.T. is preferred.
- Current BLS certification or completion upon hire.
Work Environment:
- Clinic, office, and surgery center setting.
