Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and manage all facets of production, maintenance, and sanitation activities at H&S Bakery Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Management: Guide, direct, and manage all plant operations to ensure profit and quality goals.
  • Quality Control: Ensure product quality and adherence to all applicable standards (FDA, QBA, OSHA, A.I.B, etc.).
  • Departmental Coordination: Oversee relations between departments to ensure cooperation, teamwork, and productivity.
  • Budgeting: Review and evaluate each department's operating budget and prepare an overall presentation to the owner for the company's operating budget.
  • Human Resources: Coordinate with HR Manager to ensure the execution of the company's human resource and labor relations policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Logistics: Direct and manage the activities of ordering, shipping, and transportation to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Compliance: Represent the company in all plant operations matters to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (i.e. EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.).
  • Employee Relations: Maintain a good employee relation in all phases of the operation.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Safety: Maintain a safe working environment for all employees/contractors.
  • Safety Programs: Participate in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety programs.
  • Accident Investigations: Participate in accident investigations.
  • Safety Promotion: Promote employee safety in all areas of operations.
  • Safety Committee: Maintain membership on the Safety committee.
Sanitation:
  • Cleanliness: Ensure all plant personnel maintain the cleanliness of the work area.
  • GMPs: Ensure proper G. M. P.'s are followed at all times.
  • Other Duties: Other related duties as assigned by ownership.
Requirements
  • Education: 4-year degree or equivalent industry training; Completion of management skills training program; and, AMA Management Skills course.
  • Physical Demands: Physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant, company facilities, community facilities, and customer locations. Must be capable of reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling as required in a production operation.
  • Communication Skills: Able to generate written and verbal communications clearly and distinctly. Ability to read and review written communication, blueprints, schematics, etc.
  • Operational Skills: Able to operate required office equipment. Able to research, develop, implement, and monitor required policies and procedures.
