About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Omaha Children's Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the success of our surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and guidelines.
  • Assist physicians and other members of the perioperative team in preparing patients for surgery, including reviewing physician preference lists and assembling necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Function as a scrub person during operative procedures, monitoring and maintaining a sterile field, and assisting with draping and positioning patients.
  • Perform postoperative tasks, including disassembling instruments and equipment, and assisting with cleaning and restocking the operating room.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical principles to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Completion of a formal Surgical Technologist program offered by a community or junior college, vocational school, university, or military.
  • 2+ years of current surgical technologist experience, with advanced knowledge of at least one complex surgical specialty.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, with ongoing CEU requirements to maintain certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with completion within 90 days of hire.
