Pharmacy Technician

Job Description:

In this role, you will assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You will also be responsible for performing various tasks, including processing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including processing prescriptions and maintaining inventory.

• Provide excellent customer service, engaging with customers and patients to ensure a positive experience.

• Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.

• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring the pharmacy is stocked with adequate supplies and is clean, neat, and orderly.

Requirements:

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.

• Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.

• Prefer good math skills to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.

• Prefer good computer skills.

• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.

• Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification.

Training & Personal Development:

Earns and maintains PTCB or ExCPT certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration. Otherwise, earns PTCB or ExCPT certification as condition of promotion to senior technician. Attends training and completes PPLs requested by Manager and acquires continuing education credits. Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
