Pipelayer Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Pipelayer Journeyman to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a Pipelayer Journeyman, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing all types of underground piping systems in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and select parts and components of piping systems for installation
• Align and set pipe on grade using levels and lasers, cutting, fitting, and connecting pipe using seal joints, cement, glue, or mechanical fittings
• Grade and level trench bases using tamping equipment and hand tools
• Dig trenches to desired depth, install pipe components, and cover/backfill with earth or other materials
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, or determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for work activities
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, pointing out deficiencies and taking corrective action as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or related area
• Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management/supervision
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools, as well as measurement tools
• Able to meet all physical requirements, have all required tools, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft), work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload, and observe and comply with all safety and project rules
