Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician 1 to join our team in Holland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, as well as performing various maintenance skills and duties, including preventative maintenance, plumbing, welding, and carpentry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform machine and equipment maintenance, including greasing and oiling, as well as preventive maintenance duties determined by established procedures, maintenance schedules, and computerized systems.
  • Modify and repair machinery and equipment, working from written instructions, blueprints, and diagnostic skills to enable production to meet schedules.
  • Set up and operate various pieces of equipment to fabricate and sharpen tools, including saws, molders, and shaper knives.
  • Assist Machine Repairers to install, remove, and relocate machinery and equipment.
  • Create and complete work requests and work orders, source parts from the tool crib, and maintain documentation of equipment.
Requirements
  • 8th Grade education
  • Trade school classes preferred
  • One year maintenance-related experience in crafts and skills of maintenance position
  • Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Michigan driver's license
Work Environment

The Maintenance Technician 1 will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with moderate exposure to dust, noise, solvent, heat, paint, and lubricants. The position requires constant mental and visual alertness to avoid potential serious injury to self and others.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, ability to learn to read and interpret blueprints, and ability to troubleshoot and analyze root causes of issues.
