We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Porter/Custodial (Stores) to join our team at Big Y. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive environment throughout our stores.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a clean and organized store environment.
- Clean and sanitize high-traffic areas, including the meat cutting area, kitchen, and bakery area.
- Maintain proper department conditions and supplies, including racks, sales floor, bottle redemption area, closets, and workstations.
- Operate equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs to the facilities team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in janitorial or maintenance work preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
