About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at Goodwin Living. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in evaluating residents with swallowing and communication disorders, developing effective treatment plans, and communicating with families and healthcare teams to improve outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate residents with swallowing and communication disorders, and develop personalized treatment plans to address their specific needs.
  • Communicate effectively with families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide speech therapy evaluations and treatments to residents, using evidence-based practices to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, dietary department, occupational, and physical therapists to coordinate resident care and ensure comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Document resident progress, treatment plans, and billing records accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and discharge planning to ensure resident needs are met and care transitions are smooth.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and coordinate with the rehab department to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
Requirements
  • Master of Science or Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Virginia State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment, prioritizing resident needs and communicating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing resident needs and treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
