Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at Travel Nurse Source. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will work with mothers during antepartum, labor, recovery, and postpartum periods. Your responsibilities will include monitoring mother and fetus vital signs, reporting any signs or symptoms of possible complications, and assisting the MD with delivery of the fetus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor patients throughout the labor process
  • Identify complications during labor and report to the MD
  • Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques
  • Perform basic IV and central line skills
  • Administer pain medication as ordered and other medications to address specific medical conditions
  • Take and record patients' vital signs and ascertain if problematic
  • Read fetal monitor and ascertain if there is a problem with the baby's heart rate
  • Identify and manage life-sustaining physiological functions in unstable patients
  • Clean and maintain patients' beds and clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after the birthing process
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current nursing license, in good standing
  • Minimum of one (1) year Labor and Delivery (L/D) experience
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN certifications
  • Fetal Monitoring skills
