About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Host/Hostess to join our team at Madlife Stage & Studios. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive until their departure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting and Seating: Greet incoming and departing guests warmly, escort them to assigned dining areas, present menus, and announce the waiter's name.
  • Table Management: Use the Open Table app to seat guests in either the restaurant or patio dining area, depending on their preference. Assign tables to guests based on party size and server availability.
  • Guest Communication: Inform guests of current promotions, announce who will be serving them, and ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff.
  • Menu Knowledge: Answer patron questions regarding menu items, recommend or suggest items as needed, and provide accurate information about our offerings.
  • Flow Management: Manage the flow of guests into the dining, patio, and bar areas, providing accurate wait times to incoming guests if necessary.
  • Special Requests: Tend to special guest needs and requests, ensuring a high-quality service experience.
  • Observation and Intervention: Observe guests' needs throughout the dining experience, intervening when necessary to ensure they receive excellent service.
  • Establishment Protection: Protect the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies.
  • Supporting the Team: Assist dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, replenishing water, and serving beverages.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: High school degree or equivalent, or relevant work experience. 1 year+ experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.
  • Guest Relations: Ability to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills.
  • Communication: Ability to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests, as well as understand requests for assistance.
  • Teamwork: Ability to clearly communicate guests' needs to servers, bussers, managers, etc.
  • Telephone Skills: Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand/walk and stay focused and alert for extended periods of time. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe.
  • Attitude and Flexibility: Desire to help where needed and work as part of a team. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (days, nights, weekends, and some holidays).
  • Personality: Must be upbeat, outgoing, and positive. Ability to work positively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Service Passion: Passion for providing extraordinary service.
