Steward Machine Co., Inc. is a leading manufacturer of precision metal parts, and we are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating machining tools to produce high-quality metal parts that meet precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic parts.
- Fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures.
- Read blueprints to understand customer specifications and use a variety of tools to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Maintain dimensional logs for all work and jobs that go across your machines.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and report any equipment malfunctions to the proper authority.
- Prior experience in heavy construction machining.
- Self-starter with good customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Must be able to lift and carry tools and material weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess openness to learning new skills and collaborating with other team members to create solutions.
- Previous CNC Machining experience.
- Completion of four-year apprentice program in a Machining.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gages, etc.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat or cold, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration.
Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl, and smell. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
