Position Responsibilities

In this role, you will spend approximately 4 - 6 hours per shift, 4 - 5 shifts per week in the water, conducting engaging swimming lessons for students of various ages and skill levels. You will develop lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student while adhering to our core values and program standards. Safety is paramount, and you will follow established protocols to ensure a secure learning environment.

As a Swim Instructor, you will welcome students with a friendly demeanor, build relationships with families, and establish trust with the children. Your positive attitude will foster a supportive atmosphere, enabling you to provide quality instruction and help each student feel comfortable in the water. You will offer constructive feedback, set achievable goals, and monitor progress to keep students motivated. Additionally, by participating in special events and assisting throughout the facility, you will contribute to a sense of community and help students develop their swimming skills.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Hold CPR, AED, First Aid, and USSSA Fundamental Swim Instructor certifications (we can assist with certification)
  • Availability to work afternoons and weekends, with the ability to be in the water for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively teach children
  • A positive attitude, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to learn
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Commitment to at least 1 year of employment and completion of Aqua Duks training
