About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about working with extruded polymer products. As an Extrusions Engineer, you will act as a technical consultant, providing expertise on products and processes. You will also be responsible for leading product design and development initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet engineering, manufacturing, and financial targets.
Responsibilities- Act as a technical consultant in area of specialization for products and/or processes.
- Lead Product Design & Development initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet engineering, manufacturing, and financial targets.
- Identify and communicate design, materials, and specifications.
- Initiate and implement continuous improvement suggestions.
- Work as part of the design and development team by providing design and analysis direction.
- Participate with Manufacturing Division to form multidisciplinary team for review of both product and process designs and ensure that DFM&A requirements are met.
- Meet with customer one-on-one within the scope of the PD&D process.
- Expected to use broader knowledge base to take on more complicated assignments.
- Provide technical mentoring for co-workers.
- Required to work extra hours and travel to meet Customer needs.
- Participate and fully understand QMS/QOS as it pertains to the job and support functions as applicable.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer proficiency.
- May be required to have proficiency in languages other than English.
- BS in engineering or equivalent.
- Competitive salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year (estimated based on industry standards).
