Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Finance Specialist to join our team at U.S. Bank. The successful candidate will assist in the marketing, acquisition, and initial underwriting of loans or tax equity investments to finance the installation of renewable energy properties across the country.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax credit programs, risk assessment, and evaluating targeted returns from investments. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

The Environmental Finance Specialist will be responsible for providing a broad variety of duties, including assisting Relationship Managers and Business Development Officers in reviewing project proposals, analyzing complex cash flows, and responding to prospect inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and summarize developer-produced renewable investment proposals and models
  • Communicate with internal partners and external customers to gather information and assist in the initial underwriting of renewable energy debt and tax equity opportunities
  • Perform initial debt and tax equity modeling for the purpose of providing initial financing proposals
  • Assist in the preparation of tax equity and/or debt term sheets
  • Facilitate the transition of originated investments to other internal teams
  • Collect information and produce bi-weekly reports related to various aspects of the renewable energy pipeline

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and six or more years of related experience
  • MBA/JD with three or more years of directly related experience
  • Basic understanding of tax credit programs
  • Good knowledge of risk assessment and evaluating targeted returns from investments
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
