Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

First Step of Sarasota, Inc. is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing high-quality healthcare services to our clients. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for promoting and restoring client health through the nursing process, collaborating with physicians, and working closely with multidisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify client care requirements by establishing a rapport with clients and other stakeholders, providing emotional and psychological support, and promoting client independence.
  • Coordinate daily activities with the Court Services Office to provide admission nursing screens and assessments, promoting a smooth transition for clients entering residential or detoxification services.
  • Assist physicians with weekly medical and psychiatric clinics, promoting client health outcomes and quality of care.
  • Establish client care goals, teach clients self-care skills, and provide psychoeducational groups to promote client well-being.
  • Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Provide nursing sick call clinics, recommend referrals, and protect clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Document client care services, maintain confidentiality, and provide oversight and support to technicians in monitoring client self-medication protocols and medication storage.
  • Maintain inter- and intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation and additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Requirements:
  • Current Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • One year general nursing experience and/or substance abuse/mental health nursing experience
  • Strong people skills to provide excellent internal and external customer service
