This role involves conducting vital research on the physical and mental well-being of military personnel, aimed at enhancing health, operational readiness, and overall quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement innovative research studies focused on the health of U.S. military personnel.
  2. Collaborate as a co-investigator on extensive research projects assessing healthcare outcomes using validated psychological tools.
  3. Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory documents and IRB protocols.
  4. Provide expertise in research psychology, collaborating with internal and external researchers.
  5. Utilize statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) for comprehensive data analysis.
  6. Identify and apply appropriate statistical methods to interpret research findings and their relevance.
  7. Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts, and presentations for peer-reviewed journals.
  8. Review and ensure accuracy in scientific documents and reports.
  9. Contribute to the development and submission of research funding proposals.
  10. Present research findings at scientific meetings.
  11. Work independently to meet project deliverables and operational objectives.
  12. Support department staff with additional tasks as required.


Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of military health issues, including mental health and health behaviors.
  • Expertise in statistical theory and methodologies applicable to psychology.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple research projects and adapt priorities as needed.
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a SECRET government security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active California state license to practice psychology.
  • Experience in conducting psychological assessments and mental health care.
  • Previous experience in a military research setting.
  • Possession of an active Interim or Secret Security clearance.
