The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting mid-level accounting duties, encompassing day-to-day activities and projects. This position requires a high level of expertise in financial management, analysis, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare consolidated financial statements and trial balances.
- Post monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts.
- Coordinate company-wide allocation entries from various departments.
- Oversee closing and reconciling front-end sales to SAP.
- Prepare annual budgets for vehicle licenses and property insurance expenses.
- Develop and maintain amortization schedules for company-wide vehicle registrations and annual insurance premiums.
- Prepare ADHOC reports for management and operations.
- Prepare audit schedules and complete requests from external auditors during quarterly and year-end audits.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Provide leadership and support to other accounting staff members.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and strong work ethic.
- Team-player and flexible.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
- Experience in the construction materials industry.
- Experience with SAP.
The successful candidate must undergo a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
