The Mechanic for Heavy Machinery will play a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment utilized in the coal mining sector. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring optimal performance and safety of machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic assessments on heavy machinery to identify malfunctions.
- Repair and replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
- Troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols to promote a secure working environment.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a heavy machinery mechanic, ideally within the coal mining industry.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift and maneuver heavy machinery parts and tools.
- Comfortable working in diverse weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Willingness to work at heights and in noisy, dusty environments.
