Hennepin County's Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking dedicated volunteers to participate in Victim Impact Panel Speaking opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver an engaging and informative message about the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the impact on families and individuals.
- Share your personal story of how your life has been affected by losses or injuries due to someone's choice to drive while impaired or distracted.
- Complete Volunteer Orientation and Training.
- Collaborate with Adult Probation staff and meet as needed.
- Undergo necessary background clearance.
As a Victim Impact Panel Speaker, you will have the opportunity to:
- Make a positive impact on the community by sharing your story and helping others understand the consequences of impaired driving.
- Gain valuable experience and skills in public speaking and restorative justice.
- Be part of a team dedicated to promoting public safety and supporting victims of crime.
To be eligible for this volunteer opportunity, you must:
- Be a motivated and empathetic individual with a strong desire to make a positive impact.
- Be able to commit to regular speaking engagements and training sessions.
- Undergo a background check and meet other necessary requirements.
