About the Role

At UNC Health, we are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cardiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular imaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and report results of non-invasive echocardiographic diagnostic procedures.
  • Ensure positive patient identification and promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
  • Read, comprehend, and transcribe imaging orders, engaging with physicians when necessary.
  • Interview patients to understand risk factors and prior medical history.
  • Select appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters using extensive knowledge of human anatomy and pathology.
  • Measure, evaluate, and record gradients using pressure measurements recorded with Doppler ultrasound systems.
  • Review and chart records of care into electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Requirements

  • Registered as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS, RDCS) through CCI or ARDMS.
  • Education or graduation from an accredited cardiovascular sonography program.
  • BLS certification.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT, RVS).
  • Degree in an Allied Health field.
  • Experience with EPIC and CV-Synapse EMR tools.
