Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Test Engineer to join our team at Detroit Engineered Products. As a key member of our software development organization, you will be responsible for planning and performing software verification testing of real-time embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute automated and manual requirements-based software verification testing
  • Use version control and issue tracking tools to manage software development and testing
  • Integrate and test software with various real-time operating systems, including Linux/Unix derivatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical approach is consistent with established engineering principles and practices
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 6 years of professional experience in verification testing of real-time embedded software
  • Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, documentation, and testing
  • Experience working with software architecture and design information captured in models
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to mentor less experienced software test engineers
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome candidates with experience in:

  • Developing tests using NI Software (TestStand, VeriStand, and/or LabView)
  • Working with software architecture and design information captured in models
  • Familiarity with combat vehicle functionality and capability
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Bamboo)
Education

A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is required, with a degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science being preferred.
