Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the safe transport of patients to the operating suite.
• Assist in patient positioning following established protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and privacy at all times.
• Execute all scrub duties with precision and efficiency.
• Verify the sterility of all instruments and supplies prior to surgical use.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures.
• Conduct surgical counts in collaboration with the circulating nurse, adhering to center policies.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon regarding instruments, sutures, sponges, and other materials based on the procedure.
• Aid in the management and care of surgical specimens under the guidance of the circulating nurse, in accordance with established policies.
• Support the upkeep and organization of all surgical instruments and supplies.
• Assist in updating physician preference cards as necessary.
• Participate in selecting case supplies for upcoming surgical schedules.
• Keep the circulating nurse informed about the progress of surgical cases.
• Contribute to room turnover efficiency.
• Assess the quality and cost-effectiveness of supplies and services in line with center objectives.
• Act as a liaison for the center with patients, physicians, and business representatives in clinical settings.
• Engage in relevant meetings and committees.
• Support research and improvement initiatives that enhance the quality and efficiency of nursing services.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Program.
• Take part in the adverse incident reporting program.
• Conduct daily biological testing of autoclaves and maintain accurate records.
• Accept deliveries from external vendors as required.
