**Position Overview:**
As a **Manufacturing Technician**, you will be responsible for setting up and operating precision CNC machining equipment to manufacture ball bearing components. This role is designated for the second shift, typically from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Setup and Operations:** Efficiently set up and operate production machinery, including CNC lathes, honers, and bore grinders.
- **Measurement and Gauging:** Conduct basic measurements of bearing geometry utilizing advanced computer-controlled gauging tools, digital calipers, micrometers, and other measurement techniques.
- **Quality Control:** Implement process control methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), histograms, and Pareto analysis to monitor and adjust the manufacturing process. Focus on identifying, diagnosing, and rectifying out-of-control conditions, ensuring quality checks for concentricity, roundness, and other critical tolerances.
- **Zone Management:** Utilize ANDON systems to signal any abnormalities or issues, and engage in problem-solving to address these challenges.
- **Equipment Maintenance:** Regularly monitor, clean, and inspect machinery to prevent potential issues, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting minor to moderate complexities.
- **Material Handling:** Efficiently transport work in progress to adjacent operations and complete necessary administrative tasks.
- **Customer Orientation:** Develop a thorough understanding of both internal and external customer technical requirements for each order, ensuring compliance with these specifications.
- **Team Collaboration:** Work alongside various plant teams dedicated to continuous improvement, occasionally facilitating team efforts and assisting colleagues in achieving team metrics.
- **Training Development:** Continuously enhance and update training materials for fellow technicians, and participate in training sessions as needed.
- **Safety Commitment:** Actively engage in safety responsibilities, including Behavior-Based Safety practices, daily housekeeping, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adherence to all safety protocols.
- **Continuous Improvement Initiatives:** Propose and implement strategies for quality enhancements and cost reduction.

**Position Requirements:**
- Technical or mechanical background.
