Job Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry
Job Duration: 26 weeks
Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM, 12-hour night shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1 year of RN experience required. Previous travel assignment experience necessary. CNA candidates must have at least 1 year of experience and possibly manager approval for those who have not worked in a hospital setting in the past year.
License: RN or CNA state licensure
Certifications:
- RN: BLS, ACLS
- CNA: BLS
Must-Have:
- RN candidates must have Cardiac Telemetry experience.
- Ability to read and interpret rhythm strips.
- Charge experience preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiac conditions such as CHF, angina, acute MI, cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, post-surgical cardiac procedures, and more.
- Monitor patients using telemetry systems.
- Administer cardiac medications and manage protocols for cardiac drips.
- Work in a team to support a unit with 32 private rooms and a 10-bed cardiac unit.
- Maintain a patient ratio of RN: 1:4-5 and CNA: 1:8-10 during days and 1:10 at night.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and cardiologists.
- Utilize the Cerner charting system for documentation.
- Flexibility to float to other cardiac units occasionally.
- Engage in brief orientation and shadowing before managing a full patient load independently with preceptor support.
- Professional attire in any scrub color is required for both RN and CNA positions.
