Job Summary:

As a Dental Care Professional with The MetroHealth System, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care to patients of all ages. You will assist the Dentist(s) in providing a safe and efficient environment for patients to receive dental services. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for exams and procedures, taking and developing dental X-rays, and assisting with dental procedures. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and explaining procedures to patients.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays to assist with diagnoses and treatment planning.
  • Assist Dentist(s) with dental procedures, such as preparing instruments and materials, and handing instruments to the Dentist.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring that all equipment is properly sterilized.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program.
  • 2+ years of experience as a dental assistant; experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • Certification in dental radiography and CPR/BLS required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a dental assistant.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and dental software.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages, including Spanish, preferred.
