Position Overview

The PCBC Day School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher for our Pre-K 2's and 3's program. This role involves working with young children in a nurturing environment, focusing on their developmental needs and educational growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for early childhood education.
  • Maintain current certifications in CPR and first aid, renewing every two years.
  • Acquire and keep valid Food Handlers certification, updated biennially.
  • Implement Positive Guidance and Discipline Methods in accordance with state regulations.
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans based on curriculum guidelines and student assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Day School Director to execute the educational curriculum effectively.
  • Facilitate outdoor learning experiences through games, gardening, and physical activities.
  • Support the PreK-3's lead teacher by documenting student progress and behavior.
  • Engage with parents by providing educational resources and addressing their inquiries promptly.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in early childhood education through professional literature.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm and a positive demeanor while interacting with children.
  • Foster respectful and constructive relationships with both children and adults.
  • Prepare classrooms with necessary supplies and resources before each session.
  • Record significant incidents and communicate with the Day School Director as needed.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and structured learning environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using technology for lesson planning and virtual learning.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, actively engaging with students.
  • Physical capability to stoop, crouch, sit on the floor, and rise without assistance.
  • Strength to lift and carry children and classroom materials, occasionally up to 40 pounds.
  • Work primarily indoors, with opportunities for outdoor activities in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to manage diverse behaviors and learning styles among young children and their families.
