Job Description

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to help design and scale our carbon-reducing cloud computing platform. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating tools and frameworks for the engineering team, considering reliability, scalability, operational costs, ease of adoption, and recruiting implications.

The ideal candidate will develop and refine technical and team fit assessments, mentor engineers, and actively contribute to their development in partnership with engineering managers.

Daily Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate closely with tooling and customer success teams to design and develop advanced tooling solutions for Crusoe Cloud.
  2. Act as a mentor for junior engineers, providing guidance on design proposals and conducting thorough code reviews to ensure quality and efficiency.
  3. Innovate and implement market-making features that set Crusoe Cloud apart from competitors, enhancing its unique value proposition.
  4. Work in partnership with the cloud support and operations teams to create features that support the growth and empowerment of Crusoe Cloud's business.
  5. Engage in continuous collaboration with various teams to ensure alignment of goals and maximization of resources for optimal customer experience.
  6. Lead by example in technical excellence, fostering an environment of innovation and high-quality software engineering practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one modern compiled language such as Go, Rust, Java, or C++.
  • 5+ years of experience contributing to architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5-8+ years relevant work experience.
  • Computer Science fundamentals in data structures and algorithm design.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining scalable and highly available fault-tolerant distributed systems and application architectures.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure design, including the operational trade-offs of various designs.
  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices and build systems, such as GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Cloud Formation, Terraform.
  • Experience in concurrency, multi-threading and synchronization.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience with TCP/IP and network programming.
  • Excellent communication skills.
