We're seeking a skilled Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team at Fifth Third Bank. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for originating residential 1st mortgage loans for outside referrals, meeting sales and cross-selling objectives, and assuming overall responsibility for the loan from application to closing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain referral contacts with realtors, builders, and other professionals.
  • Stay up-to-date on Fifth Third Mortgage Company's policies and procedures, as well as available loan products and processing procedures.
  • Utilize laptop for communication, daily rates, applicant credit reports, and loan transmission.
  • Collect and deliver loan packages within set timeframes.
  • Manage loan pipelines and complete required management reports.
  • Provide timely updates and progress reports to branches and applicants.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and manage expectations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; four-year college degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
  • Residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
  • Federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
  • Two years of mortgage sales lending experience.
  • Established local book of business and existing mortgage sales of $1 million per month.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proven computer skills and basic sales technique skills.
