OBJECTIVE

The Healthcare Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring a secure and safe atmosphere for all individuals utilizing the medical facilities. This position is essential in assisting staff, patients, and visitors with various security needs, managing access points, and monitoring the premises to uphold safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safeguard property and personnel by performing regular patrols, identifying safety concerns, and overseeing parking areas.
  • Enhance the safety of visitors and employees on the premises by conducting thorough checks, identifying lighting issues, ensuring elevators function correctly, and managing challenging situations.
  • Respond promptly to calls for assistance, including guiding emergency responders throughout the facility.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in high-pressure scenarios, collaborating with clinical staff to pinpoint potential safety risks.
  • Document incidents and maintain shift reports for review by relevant parties.
  • Assist in property maintenance and safety checks, including testing alarms, inspecting life safety equipment, and verifying access control measures.
  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter any suspicious activities.
  • Adhere to a consistent attendance schedule.
  • Carry out additional related tasks as required.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Night shifts on Thursday from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Evening shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the security field.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Preferred: Valid Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or equivalent.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours daily.
  • Proficient in using standard office equipment, including telephones and computers.
  • Regularly engages in manual dexterity tasks, near vision, and effective communication.
  • Capable of working under pressure while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and the ability to respond to emergencies.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and navigate various terrains.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking in challenging situations.
  • Occasional exposure to uneven surfaces.
