Role Description

The Registered Nurse is a vital member of the healthcare team, delivering expert nursing care to patients as per an established Physician Plan of Treatment, while adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and the policies of TLC Nursing. This role reports to the TLC Nursing Supervisor and, in institutional settings, to designated personnel.

Qualifications
  1. Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  2. Valid nursing license from the State Board of Nursing.
  3. At least one year of experience in an acute care environment.
  4. Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  5. Mature and responsible character.
  6. Up-to-date knowledge of disease processes and emergency interventions.
  7. Strong observational judgment and effective communication skills.
  8. Good physical and mental health.
  9. Completion of the agency's employment process and orientation.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver skilled nursing care to patients.
  2. Continuously assess and monitor patient and family circumstances.
  3. Communicate patient changes and needs to the physician and Nursing Supervisor.
  4. Initiate preventive, rehabilitative, and therapeutic nursing measures.
  5. Educate patients on safety precautions, medication actions, and health care measures.
  6. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.
  7. Maintain current skills and knowledge through continuing education.
  8. Document nursing notes and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  9. Collaborate effectively with facility administration and personnel.
Performance Competencies

Competence is demonstrated when the Nurse:

  1. Provides nursing care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and agency policies.
  2. Implements realistic care plans.
  3. Continuously assesses patients' changing conditions.
  4. Exhibits effective communication skills.
  5. Documents relevant information and submits records as per agency policies.
