As a Patient Care Supervisor for the Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit at Fairview Health Services, you will play a critical role in leading our team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Manager/Director to supervise and manage day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Assist in planning, managing, coordinating, and evaluating patient care activities, including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
- Prioritize assignments to ensure timely, productive, and efficient use of resources.
- Collaborate with nursing, provider leadership, and other team members to implement and evaluate standards of practice.
- Collect and analyze quality data, using process improvement methodology to ensure delivery of safe and quality patient care.
- Assist with department change and act as a change agent for system, procedure, and process changes.
- Demonstrate skills and abilities in provision of patient care.
- Ensure unit protocols, benchmarks, and hospital procedures are initiated appropriately.
- Assist in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Advocate for patient, family, and staff needs.
- Drive improvement activities that promote patient-centered care and positive customer experience.
- Assist in ensuring staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education, and clinical competency.
- Promote a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education, and research.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing. If Master's degree is in nursing or healthcare, Bachelor's degree in other area of study will be accepted.
- Two years of nursing experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. Knowledge of patient population served in area of responsibility.
- Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.
- BLS certification.
- Masters degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.
- BMT experience highly desired.
- Experience working with teams on quality improvement activities.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- ANCC or AONL Certification.
