Position Overview:
SOVAH Health is seeking a full-time Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide expert care for patients with respiratory conditions. The successful candidate will perform diagnostic tests, collaborate with physicians to create treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and analyze lung function.
- Administer prescribed therapies and monitor patient responses.
- Document patient conditions and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Participate in emergency response situations as a member of the code team.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory health and available resources.
- Maintain and manage respiratory care supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care required.
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Care program.
Essential Skills:
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or obtained within six months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or obtained within six months of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification or obtained within six months of hire.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential or eligibility to take the exam within 18 months of hire.
- Valid license to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Virginia.
