Each patient is equipped with a telemetry monitor that must be worn continuously during their stay. Our unit accommodates a variety of patients, primarily hemodynamically stable adults aged 18 and older, requiring monitoring every four hours. Pediatric patients aged 14 and above may also be admitted to a private room with a guardian present. Common patient conditions include cardiac interventions, pre-CABG, arrhythmias, blood pressure irregularities, congestive heart failure, substance abuse issues, and general medical concerns. We also manage medication drips such as antiarrhythmic agents, IV nitroglycerin, heparin, non-titrating dopamine, and IV inotropic medications (excluding levophed, neosynephrine, or labetalol).
