Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Chicago, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to perform a comprehensive array of sophisticated abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound procedures to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic assessment.
  • Recognize and document critical findings, such as deep vein thrombosis, ectopic pregnancy, and aortic aneurysms.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, reporting any issues to the Department Coordinator.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, such as amniocentesis, thoracentesis, and biopsies.
  • Assess arterial circulation using pulse doppler, duplex imaging, and physiologic indirect testing.
  • Document patient history, images, and results for analysis and interpretation.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.

Requirements:

  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Allied Health or Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Science.
  • 1 year experience in Abdomen and OB/GYN.
  • 1 year experience in Vascular exams.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to ill patients; may be exposed to blood and urine samples.
  • Ability to communicate with patients and respond to patients in a timely manner.
