Job Title

A Civil Engineer with a focus on Construction Inspection and Materials Testing is required to join our team at CMT Technical Services in Phoenix, Arizona.

About the Job

This role involves providing construction inspections and materials testing support for transportation, civil, and structural building projects. Inspectors will monitor construction operations for compliance with contract provisions, drawings, and specifications.

We are an equal opportunity employer and offer competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, 40lk, and paid time off.


Responsibilities
  • Perform project construction inspections and/or materials testing support;
  • Monitor construction operations for compliance with contract provisions;
  • Provide construction materials testing of soils, asphalt, concrete, masonry, structural steel, and other items;

Requirements
  • Certifications with ATTI, ACI, ICC, AWS, Nuclear Density Gauge;
  • Proficient in construction inspections, specifications, and plan interpretation;
  • Possess good mathematical skills and experience performing independent analysis and problem-solving;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Familiarity with electronic data processing equipment and contract management software;

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Considerable knowledge of roadway, buildings, structure, construction methods, procedures, practices, plans, and specifications;
  2. Knowledge of general inspection and testing principles, safety, and quality control-quality assurance principles;
  3. Skill in the use of nuclear density and materials testing equipment;
  4. Ability to interpret roadway, civil, and/or building plans, specifications, and codes;

Physical Demands
  • Lifting of concrete cylinders, wheelbarrows, and other tools is necessary; Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds;
  • The position may require work in adverse weather conditions, long hours, night shifts, and weekends.
