Job Description
The City of The Dalles is seeking an experienced Finance Director to oversee all financial operations within the Finance Department. This position requires strong leadership and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Manage and analyze financial data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Supervise and train staff to maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum four years of increasingly responsible experience in public sector accounting or finance, including two years of supervisory experience.
- CPA credential preferred and valid driver's license required.
What We Offer
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurances, and employer-paid retirement contributions equal to 13.5% of base wage after one year of employment.
