Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive labor and material cost estimates for electrical substation projects.
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
  • Prepare bills of material and other necessary documentation for purchasing.
  • Conduct site visits to determine constructability requirements and ensure compliance with project documents.
  • Verify the accuracy and consistency of project documents and perform data entry tasks.
  • Perform field take-offs and evaluations to support estimate preparation.
  • Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist construction personnel in tracking and understanding cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and submit change orders as needed.
  • Close out projects by ensuring invoicing and cost tracking are accurate and complete.
  • Attend work regularly and maintain a predictable attendance record.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and industry-specific professional and ethical standards.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in estimating for electrical substation, transmission line, and distribution line projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans and specifications, including blueprints and proposals.
  • Knowledge of electrical materials and methods of installation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Team player mentality and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
