Job Title:
Quality Lab Technician III

Location:
Cedar Rapids, IA

Hours/Schedule: 3-11pm CST and 11pm-7am with some flexibility

Type:
Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct analytical and physical lab testing using HPLC, titrimeter, colorimeter, density, viscosity, etc.
  • Perform GMP and Process Audits in production and storage areas of the plant
  • Enter data into Quality System databases
  • Report monthly summaries of Quality system functions
  • Present training in Quality subjects to new and existing employees
  • Review online HACCP and MCP log sheets to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Support Analytical and Quality Assurance program
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment

Requirements:
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while performing everyday tasks
  • Strong commitment to Quality and Customer Service

Additional Skills/Experiences:
  • Previous lab or food safety/quality department experience
  • Experience in a food plant in manufacturing, sanitation, or quality assurance
  • Proven work record of attendance and performance
  • Ability to learn and execute physical and chemical analyses required for this position
  • Ability to compile, retrieve data, and report results on GMI standard data collection systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook
