Job Summary

The Nurse Extern I (NE I) is a key member of our patient care services team, responsible for providing technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. As a NE I, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, who will delegate tasks based on patient needs and your skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse.
  • Assist with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

Qualifications

  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course through an accredited school of nursing.
  • Students must successfully pass all courses to remain in the program.
