About the PositionThe Department of Bioengineering at UCLA invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We are looking for a candidate with a strong research background in bioengineering or a closely related field, and a demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students.
Responsibilities- Conduct innovative research in bioengineering, with a focus on immunoengineering, computational molecular design, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in biology and medicine.
- Teach and mentor students in our undergraduate and graduate bioengineering programs.
- Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaborations and innovative technologies.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach activities.
- Ph.D. in bioengineering or a closely related field at date of hire.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct innovative research and teach effectively.
- Strong potential for securing external funding and developing a strong research program.
- Commitment to mentoring and advising students from underrepresented and underserved populations.
