Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Operating Room Circulating Registered Nurse to join our team at Providence Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the operating room, advocating for patients under anesthesia, and conducting inventory of supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up surgical trays and ensuring the cleanliness of the environment.
  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, verifying their identity and surgical site, and helping to position them on the operating table.
  • Document pertinent information before, during, and after surgical procedures, including patient vital signs, medications administered, and other relevant details for the patient's medical record.
  • Act as a liaison between the operating room staff and other areas of the hospital during surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment.
  • Provide excellent post-operative care, assist with transferring patients to the recovery area, and ensure that their condition is stable.
Qualifications
  • Current and valid state RN license.
  • Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS (AHA or ARC) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
