Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist is a vital member of the operating room team at McPherson Hospital, providing exceptional surgical care to patients. This role requires expertise in sterile technique, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment within the surgical suites and department.
  • Maintain all credentialing requirements and exhibit professionalism at all times.
  • Confidentiality is essential, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Anticipate and prepare the sterile field with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the surgical procedure.
  • Ensure the highest standard of sterile technique is maintained.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during the surgical procedure.
  • Clean, prepare, document, and terminally sterilize instruments.
  • Participate in call rotation with other staff during non-scheduled OR hours.
Requirements:
  • Formal surgical training program required, with a preference for graduates from accredited Surgical Technologist programs.
  • Currently enrolled in or completed a formal Surgical Technologist program.
  • 1-2 years of OR experience preferred.
  • BLS certification within 6 months of hiring.
