We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to provide exceptional care in our Trauma and Surgical Intermediate Care Unit. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to adapt to various clinical environments.
Certification Requirements- Must possess a valid WI nursing license or a compact license from the state of permanent residence.
- Consideration will be given to candidates without a WI or compact license, provided they apply for a temporary license under the Wisconsin Act 10 order within 48 hours of accepting the offer.
- BLS and ACLS certifications must be obtained through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum qualifications must be met for consideration.
- The F4/4 unit comprises a 26-bed facility, including a 12-bed intermediate care unit for trauma and surgical patients, and a 14-bed general care unit.
- Provide comprehensive multidisciplinary care to patients with multi-system trauma and high acuity surgical needs.
- Key clinical activities include chest tube management, tracheostomy care, complex wound management, orthopedic stabilization, medication administration, and monitoring of central venous pressure and arterial lines.
- Care for multi-system trauma patients admitted directly from the emergency department, ICU, or IMC.
- Permanent residence must be outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.
- Recent experience in IMC and acute medical or surgical settings is required.
- If ICU experience is present, willingness to care for IMC and general care patients is necessary.
- Two years of acute care experience within the last three years is mandatory.
- Experience in an Academic Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center or a similar-sized hospital is essential.
- Two references from recent supervisors or managers are required.
- Basic Arrhythmia experience is necessary.
- Passing the UW Health Telemetry test is required prior to starting (not applicable for clinic positions).
- Travelers will be the first to float between units.
- Shifts may be scheduled across multiple units based on staffing needs.
- If the primary unit's needs change, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
UW Health is transitioning to modern file formats for documentation. Profiles must be submitted in .docx, .xlsx, or .pptx formats.
