Radiology Technologist, BMP 9 Mile PRN Day Shift

The Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in ensuring proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. This position performs imaging examinations in multiple settings, contributing to the efficient operation of the department. As the first line interface with customers, the Radiology Technologist is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and technical functions.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the care and maintenance of Diagnostic Radiology equipment and supplies.
• Set up and adjust Diagnostic Radiology equipment per radiologist protocol for exam.
• Operate highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites, and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standards.
• Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.
• Receive and review requests for radiologic studies, assess patients' conditions, and determine proper handling and special requirements.
• Explain and prepare patients for all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, utilizing proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when necessary.
• Administer various medications under the direction of a physician to render specific organs or systems more opaque.
• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the department to perform examinations, including assisting with examination of higher complexity such as myelograms and lumbar punctures.
• Quality control all images, maintain inventory, and adhere to safety regulations.
• Participate in training of department personnel, including students, and display superior interpersonal skills with patients and peers.
• Perform various clerical duties.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Associates Degree in Radiology Required.
• Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required.
• Registered Technologist (ARRT) Board Registry Upon Hire Required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association within 90 Days Required.
