Key Responsibilities:- Conduct daily rounds to observe patients and nursing care, ensuring that all residents receive proper attention and care.
- Address issues concerning staff members and take initiative in processing disciplinary action when necessary.
- Wear protective equipment as required per department policy and procedure.
- Review the Nursing Care Plan, reflecting physical, emotional, restorative, rehabilitative, teaching, and goals for the resident.
- Provide quality resident care by utilizing the abilities and capabilities of staff members.
- Assist and direct Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in organization and completion of workload to meet the needs of the residents.
- Integrate the Nursing Plan with the medical care prescribed.
- Order medication from the pharmacy and control the counting of narcotics, barbiturates, and counter medications.
- Responsible for proper and accurate documentation and maintenance of clinical records.
- Participate in the development of non-professional personnel through orientation and In-service Programs.
- Evaluate resident care plans for appropriate resident goals, problems, approaches, and revision based on nursing needs.
- Arrange schedule to allow for supervisor and evaluation of performance of all nursing personnel on the unit.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
