Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Bus Operator to join our team at the Wheatland-Chili Central School District. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a school bus on assigned routes to transport students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a school bus on designated routes
  • Conduct routine daily maintenance checks on the bus
  • Ensure the safety and conduct of passengers while in transport
  • Report directly to the Transportation Director and work under their general supervision

Requirements:

  • Meet minimum qualifications for the Civil Service title of Bus Driver
  • Hold a valid driver's license for the vehicle being operated
  • Be fingerprinted and cleared for employment through the NYS Education Department
  • Be available mornings and/or afternoons
  • Be at least 21 years of age

Compensation:

A competitive salary is offered, with a minimum starting pay rate of $17.50/hour. Additional compensation may be awarded if health insurance benefits are not needed.
