We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Okaloosa County, FL. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, providing exceptional service to our staff and the public.

• Operate a variety of hand-held and electrical equipment and tools, including vacuum cleaners, strippers, waxers, and other cleaning equipment.
• Perform custodial tasks, such as emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors, washing windows, dusting furniture, cleaning vents, fans, walls, and sanitizing restrooms and kitchen facilities.
• Respond to emergency situations, such as spills, broken windows, and broken locks.
• Move furniture and other equipment as necessary.
• Clean equipment and tools after use and maintain cleanliness and order in storage areas; perform routine maintenance on facility custodial equipment, such as changing vacuum cleaner belts and bags, and changing buffer machine pads.
• Monitor supplies and materials inventory; order supplies and materials.
• Perform non-cleaning tasks in general facility maintenance, such as changing light bulbs, filling paper and soap dispensers, and assisting in setting up for meetings and conferences.
• Assist with training of custodial staff as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.

• High school diploma or GED preferred supplemented by six (6) months of experience performing custodial tasks, preferably in a commercial or similar environment.
• Valid driver license required.
• Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including the ability to convey, record, and exchange information.
