Key Responsibilities- Prepare and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies to ensure a safe and efficient operating environment.
- Ensure that all necessary tools and materials are sterilized and ready for use, adhering to strict infection control practices and protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Pass instruments, sponges, and other materials to surgeons and surgical assistants, anticipating their needs and providing support as required.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure, managing sterile drapes and barriers to prevent contamination.
- Monitor and enforce strict infection control practices and procedures, handling and disposing of contaminated materials and instruments according to protocols.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of surgical equipment, observing and documenting the progress of the surgical procedure.
- Assist with counting and recording sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgery, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- At least 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with a strong background in operating room procedures and protocols.
- Current certification in NBSTSA/NCCT, with a strong understanding of surgical technology principles and practices.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification, with the ability to respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions.
- COVID-19 vaccination, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
This is a contract position, with a guaranteed 40 hours of work per week. The schedule is 4x10, with day shifts and a flexible work environment that allows for collaboration and teamwork.
