About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Facilities Electrical Field Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, providing full life-cycle support from design inception to site improvement and maintenance.

You will be the go-to engineering resource for your region, providing technical advice and expertise to diverse teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and equipment submittal review for new data centers
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis for site/equipment failures
  • Supporting operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews
  • Conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions
  • Interface with internal teams to promote standards and consistency
  • Developing innovative solutions for our data centers
  • Working on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions
  • Leading engineering audits and producing reports outlining risks and recommended mitigations

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in mission critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, and oil/gas facilities. You should have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, and at least 3 years of experience in industrial or commercial engineering.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, able to provide recommendations despite uncertainty or ambiguity, and has experience managing engineering projects and consultants. You should be able to build trust and relationships with different stakeholders, and be adaptable and inclined to get into the field to see things up close.
